I know Halloween just ended, but I’m ready to stop thinking scary and start thinking sparkly. Which, in my world, means it’s time to get ready for the holidays.
Everything has a little bit of extra sparkle in November and December, and everyone’s in a better mood. Andddd there are more excuses to indulge a little with your snacks and drinks.
Enter the slow cooker white chocolate mocha.
I would never usually make something this sweet and decadent for myself at home, but around the holidays, it seems extremely appropriate. Especially because it’s best made in big batches, and I’m more likely to be in a house full of friends and family this time of year.
It’s so simple to make, but it seems so fancy when it’s poured and topped with whipped cream and pretty things.
The great thing about making this in the slow cooker is that you can leave it on “warm” or “low” throughout your get-together, so people can keep going back for more. All you have to do is stir it up once in a while, but once all the chocolate has melted it should stay pretty consistent.
You can also double, triple or halve the ingredients based on how many servings you want. I used the recipe below for about four mugs full, but it would have been nice to have more for a second serving. (Trust me, someone, if not everyone, will want a refill.)
This recipe is perfect when it’s cold outside or when you just want something sweet and delicious. When you’re opening presents on Christmas morning or slaving away in the kitchen on Thanksgiving…
Or, if your honey is headed to work on Christmas Eve and you hand them a travel mug full of this stuff, I suspect it’ll earn you an extra special gift under the tree.
Plus, you can personalize each cup with your garnishes and even set up a little coffee bar if you want to go all out. I went with chocolate curls and cacao powder in addition to whipped cream, but I would also suggest chocolate syrup (white, milk or dark), peppermint pieces, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles or anything else that floats your boat.
Or, you could add peppermint, pumpkin spice or caramel syrup to your mix to change up the flavor a bit. Of course, you could always do dark chocolate or milk chocolate chips (or even peanut butter chips!?) if you don’t feel like having the white mocha…the possibilities are really endless.
If I were you, I’d start with the recipe below, and then customize your future batches from there once you know what works for you. However, I am not you, so feel free to ignore me and do whatever you want. I’m just here to inspire, latte lovers.
If you do come up with an amazing flavor combo, please oh please share it in the comments section below, so we all can bask in your chocolatey glory…and try your creation for ourselves! Now go get that recipe!
