Text Me Merry Christmas

I’m probably the last person to hear this song, but it’s now official—my favorite Christmas song of 2015 is now Text Me Merry Christmas by Straight No Chaser feat. Kristen Bell.

Apparently this came out in 2013, but I just heard it for the first time today on Spotify and instantly started cracking up.

It’s rare to find a holiday song that can balance modernity and a little fun with classic Christmas cheer, but leave it to the always–perfect Kristen Bell to pull it off with the gorgeous voices of Straight No Chaser. You really can’t go wrong with that combo.

It’s hilarious in a way that’s probably scary accurate about how we communicate these days, but it still kept me in the holiday spirit without being too cynical. Bottom line—I would love it if anyone from this group texted me Merry Christmas.

If you’re curious, my second favorite song this holiday season is Pentatonix’ version of Let It Go, so I guess this year’s theme is a cappella and songs that in one way or another involve Kristen Bell.
